God smiles and His kingdom triumphs when CARE participants make the decision to turn their lives over to Christ. On January 25, 2026, we welcomed three new brothers: Jay Robbins, Cameron Hackney, and Luis Baez each made that choice and committed. And Matt Barrick decided to be baptized a second time for good measure. Troy carried through the baptismal process and Dan Nase provided the sermon. This is what CARE Tallahassee strives for! On January 4, 2026, CARE Tallahassee held memorial services for two cherished residents, Joseph "Joe" Telotte and Mr. James Purnell, and our own beloved Co-Founder and Director, Mr. Robert "Bob" Rumbley. These dear friends and irreplaceable mentor--brothers in the faith, each one--are terribly missed. But we're also comforted to know that they are at home in the glory of God. As Mr. Bob himself once assured, they're "Not here, but we'll see them again." CARE celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus, God's Gift to the world, with giving gifts to each other. Each resident received a gift bag as we enjoyed each other's company along with some seriously good sweet treats! CARE Tallahassee honored veterans yesterday with prayer, food, and fellowship. We are grateful for and humbled by their service, which protects not only our own lives and rights but also those of people abroad. May God bless every vet. Shortly before Halloween, several residents from CARE Tallahassee pitched in to help unload some pumpkins for Tallahassee Heights Methodist Church's annual pumpkin patch. A great day for a great cause! CARE would like to thank Patrick Boyd, John Johnson, Jay Robbins, Marquese Chandler, Rob Hauck, Charles Poole, and Isaiah Spencer. God smiles and His kingdom triumphs when CARE participants make the decision to turn their lives over to Christ. Earlier this month, we welcomed three new brothers: Aaron Simpson, Travis, Nelson, and Eddie Diaz Brandon each made that choice and committed. Troy carried through the baptismal process and provided the sermon. This is what CARE Tallahassee strives for! This 4th of July, CARE celebrated our nation's Independence Day in true patriotic fashion! God bless our residents, volunteers, founders, and the United States of America!
This past Monday, CARE Tallahassee observed Memorial Day, setting aside the time to honor those men and women who have fallen in defense of our freedom. Mr. Bob read a small history of Memorial Day; Troy explained the symbolic elements of the Missing Man Memorial Table; and everyone enjoyed a wonderful lunch prepared by Boyd, Troy, Joe, and Lee. It was a beautiful day filled with fellowship, remembrance, and the grace of God.
This past Saturday, CARE Tallahassee's General Manager, Troy Monn, professionally recorded three original contemporary Christian songs of his, each in a different subgenre! Special thanks to producer and award-winning contemporary Christian musician, Jonathan Turner; CARE volunteer minister and backup vocalist, Leah Jones; CARE Assistant Manager and acting coach, Charles Poole; and Faith Radio co-founder and president, Scott Beigle. Troy feels blessed for the opportunity to have worked with each of you, and he thanks you all!
