CARE celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus, God's Gift to the world, with giving gifts to each other. After Bob, Mary, and several residents delivered the "10 Wonderful Truths of Christmas" devotional, Troy presented Bob and Mary with a token of our appreciation for all that they do for CARE. The celebration continued with the giving of gift bags to each resident; and, of course, no Christmas party is complete without good food, thanks to Glen and Loujean Nelson from Harvest of Life Prison Ministry!

All praise, honor, glory, and thanks be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Without Him there is nothing to celebrate, but because of Him we give thanks in all things. Current residents and some old friends joined us for the festivities. A great thanksgiving meal was enjoyed by all, thanks to the contributions of the board, staff, participants, and generous donors. CARE wishes everyone a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. CARE is joyous to announce that two longtime residents and managers, Lee Connell and Steve Gates, have completed our program and moved into their own place! We're proud of their success, praying for their next steps, and eager to to see their continued growth in Christ.

Recently, Jason Porter, Jonathan Osborne, Miguel Reynoza, and Devon Pietrowski made that choice and committed. Bob carried through the baptismal process and provided the sermon. We welcome our new brothers -- this is what CARE Tallahassee strives for!

Sonny's BBQ has become an Independence Day tradition at CARE. Before digging in, Miss Mary gave a brief talk about the importance of remembering the sacrifice of those who died for our freedoms. Everyone participated in the setup, fellowship and cleanup. We are grateful to God for friends like the McBride's, whose generous donations make it possible for our men to enjoy such a wonderful celebration with the family that they have found here at CARE. Even Lizzie got into the spirit of things, with her flag-themed bandana!

This night was joyous indeed! Charles Poole is a man who came to CARE as a self-proclaimed agnostic, but one who hoped that Christianity is real. After many hours of questions and answers, he came to the realization that he was no longer a true agnostic, and just needed to step out in faith and receive Jesus. Celebrate with us as we welcome our new brother! |
